Humanity yearns for freedom, and the Gospel promises freedom. Where does the Gospel come from? In Galatians 1:11-2:10 Paul shows that it came for God alone.

Luke 6:1-26 Does God want us to be rich, well-fed, happy, and accepted? In today’s passage Jesus answers that question in a way that far transcends the simple ‘yes’ or ‘no’ that we might crave.

This vision is a challenging and wonderful revelation of the person who both brings God\'s revelation to the church, and who fights for the church in the dreadful battles of the Last Days in which we live.

As we look at the Church in Australia, and note its tiny size, its apparent powerlessness, and many looming threats, we are tempted to blame the godlessness of our nation, our circumstances, the mistakes of our forebears... anyone and anything but ourselves. When however Daniel prayed on behalf of the broken and exiled church in the sixth century BC, he put the blame for the disaster squarely on the church herself. What a challenge! What a vital prayer and mindset for us to grasp.
